Charles William Shockley, 85, of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. The Tompkinsville, KY native was a retired employee of Scotty's, former employee of Marvin Wood Lumber Company, a U. S. Army veteran, an avid hunter and fisherman, an accomplished woodworker and a Christian. His birdhouses and wind chimes are seen and heard all over Kentucky. He was a son of the late William T Shockley and Nola Roxie Denton.
He is survived by 1 son: Chris Shockley, Scottsville, KY;
2 daughters: Glenda Denise Murley and Libby Stinson and husband, Kelly, all of Scottsville, KY;
1 brother: Eddie Ray Denton and wife, Janet, Tompkinsville, KY;
6 grandchildren: Jessica Austin, Joshua Smith, Sean Stinson, Shelby Harvey (Josh), Sara Thompson (Jay) and Seth Stinson;
3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson: Jacob Murley and 2 brothers: Lewis Ford and Jesse Shockley.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Harper officiating and burial in New Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
