Bro. Richard Lyle, 78, of Scottsville, KY passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Hospice House. He was born in Glasgow, KY to the late William Kenneth Lyle and Eva Clorine Shaw Lyle. He was a farmer, former employee of Tyson, RBC and SKF and 1964 graduate of Scottsville High School. Richard was a Missionary Baptist minister for 33 years having pastored Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Hanging Fork Missionary Baptist Church and Missionary Mound Missionary Baptist Church. He was saved at the age of 14 at Scottsville General Baptist Church, a former member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church and current member of Fountain Run Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He was a former member and Past Master of Graham Lodge #208 F & A M and former Worthy Patron of Scottsville Chapter #60 OES.
He is survived by his wife: Dottye Lawson Lyle, Scottsville, KY;
1 daughter: Beth Sexton and husband, Jeff, Scottsville, KY;
2 brothers: David Leroy Lyle and wife, Gypsy, Tucson, AZ and Dr. Larry Neal Lyle, San Diego, CA;
2 grandsons: John Burx Sexton and James Levi Sexton and wife, Gracie;
1 unborn great grandchild;
2 nephews: David Lyle, Alemeda, CA and John Lyle and wife, Jennifer, Chandler, AZ;
1 great nephew: Mason Lyle;
1 great niece: Kelsie Lyle.
He was preceded in death by a son: Clint Lyle.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Eaton and Bro. Terry Disman officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jeremy Yokley officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
