Bobby Young

Bobby Young, 83, of Adolphus, KY passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 at his residence.  The Adolphus, KY native was a 1960 graduate of ACHS where he played basketball and was inducted in the ACS-HS Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015.  He later graduated in1964 from Tennessee Tech University and was inducted in the TTU Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.  Bobby was honored to have played in the NCAA tournament in 1963.  He worked for 25 years in road asphalt paving and was the co-owner of Microsurface Paving Company.  He was a member of the Scottsville Baptist Church, Gideon's International and Scottsville Rotary Club and served as Allen County Judge Executive from 2007-2010.  He was a son of the late Marlin Frank Young and Lillie Mae Dalton Young. 

He is survived by his wife:  Denise Young, Adolphus, KY; 

2 sons:  Justin Young and wife, Dotty, Glen Burnie, MD and Dalton Young and wife, Shiori, Ft. Collins, CO; 

4 grandchildren:  Lily Mae, Eva Daves, Annabelle Joy and Faith Alene Young.

He was preceded in death by a sister:  Ineta Blick and a brother:  Dewey Young. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home with Dr. Dale Darley officiating and burial in Union Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Gideons or Scottsville Baptist Church.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
