Bobby Joe Calhoun

Bobby Joe Calhoun, 70, of Scottsville, KY and formerly of Leesburg, GA, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Medical Center at Scottsville.  The Cordele, Georgia native was a retired employee of Oxford Construction in Albany, Georgia. Bobby Joe loved his garden, could grow anything and sold fruits and vegetables from his home. He was a people person and made friends wherever he went.  He loved fishing and hunting and did what he wanted to do and lived life to the fullest. He was a member of Mt. Union General Baptist Church.  He was a son of the late Felton Lee Calhoun and Lillian Louise Smith Calhoun.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Laura Calhoun, Scottsville, KY;

1 daughter: Stacey Ratliff and husband, Matt, Alvaton, KY;

1 son: Scott Calhoun, San Diego, CA;

2 brothers: Danny Calhoun and wife, Donna, Leesburg, GA and Buddy Calhoun and wife, Kathy, Sylvester, GA;

1 sister: Vickie White and husband, Wayne, Albany, GA;

1 grandchild: Lake Ratliff.

He was preceded in death by 1 sister: Susan Calhoun and 1 brother: David Calhoun.

Memorial service will be 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Nick Gregory officiating.  Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service time Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home.  Expression of sympathy may take the form of donations to Mt. Union General Baptist Church.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
