Bishop Tommy F. Reels

Bishop Tommy F. Reels, 78, of Scottsville, KY passed away Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.  He was the founder of New Life Community Church as Bishop. He was called to preach in 1983 and ordained in 1984 and pastored churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and Michigan and founder of Liberty Trio. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Viet Nam, a lifetime member of Halfrey Dalton V.F.W. Post 5712 and American Legion in Dowagiac, MI.  He was born in Tick, TN to the late Truman L. Reels and Lizzie Gray Adams Reels.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Sherry Carter Reels, Scottsville, KY;

2 sons: Bro. Lee Reels and wife, Emily and Tim Reels and wife, Sandy, all of Scottsville, KY;

1 brother: Walter Reels and wife, Judy, Scottsville, KY;

1 granddaughter: Alivia Deann Reels;

2 great grandchildren: Brooklynn and Bayleigh Reels.

He was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Cathy Lynn Reels; 6 sisters: Lillian Keen, Shirley Smotherman, Bonnie Perry, Clara Carter, Linda Short and infant, Catherine Reels.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Reels officiating and burial in Carter's Tabernacle Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow D.A.V. Chapter 20..  Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and after 7:00 A.M. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to New Life Community Church.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
