Betty Joyce Taylor Copas, 83, of Scottsville, KY passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired cook from Allen County Schools and a member of Clifton General Baptist Church since 1954 where she formerly served at secretary. She was daughter of the late David Howard Taylor and Margie Elizabeth Allen Taylor and wife of the late Arnold Dow Copas.
She is survived by 4 sons: Jeffery Copas (Lisa); Timothy Copas; Steven Copas (Shea) and Kelvin Copas (Cindy), all of Scottsville, KY;
1 daughter: Karen Copas, Scottsville, KY;
4 sisters: Barbara Calvert (Eugene); Patricia Taylor; Lynda Sutherland (Keith); Suzie Weaver (Roger), all of Scottsville, KY;
1 brother: David Caroll Taylor (Kathy), Nashville, AR;
1 sister-in-law: Anna Taylor, Scottsville, KY;
10 grandchildren: Wesley Copas, Bradley Copas, Brian Copas (Allison), Amanda Woods (Andy), Jesse Calvert, Dustin Calvert, Jacob Copas, Phillip Todd Copas (Emily), Lucy Copas and Malliea Copas;
14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Little Jimmy Taylor and Darrell Taylor and 1 great granddaughter: Ruby Copas.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Edwards, Bro. Todd Stamps and Bro. Robby Calvert officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery with Bro. Danny Patrick officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 7:00 A.M. Thursday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Clifton Cemetery Fund. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
