Barbara Gail (McKinney) Ashby

Barbara Gail Ashby, 75, of Franklin, KY passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026 at her residence.  The Owensboro, KY native was a homemaker and a daughter of the late Leslie McKinney and Vela Iola Kennedy McKinney and wife of the late Karon Ray Ashby and Larry Wayne Covington.

She is survived by 2 sons: Curtis Ashby (Tammy), Russellville, KY and Barry Ashby (Tracy), Clare Community;

3 daughters: Tina Ashby, Dunmor, KY; Tanya Ashby (Clifton Glass), Bowling Green, KY and Bridgette Smith (Jacob), Clare Community;

15 grandchildren: Kursty Ferguson, Kristyne Ashby, Kaylee Hanks (Taylor); Dustin Ashby (Clara); Amber Ashby; Tyler Ashby (Taylor); Tequila Latham (Cody); Boyd Wayne Young (Jasmine); Kristina Young (Manny); Cody Young; Trevor Young; Brilynn Hampton; Caleb Ashby; Alex Ashby and Miley Ashby;

32 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Angela Ashby; 1 grandson: Curtis Ashby; 1 great grandson: Davin Young; 2 brothers: Roger McKinney and Ernest McKinney; 5 sisters: Susan Gossett, Rosetta Condor, Shirley Thomas, Jean Howard and Lucy Deane Graham.

Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home.  Cremation was chosen and Goad Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
