Andrew L. Hogue

Andrew L. Hogue, 45, of Scottsville, KY went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.  The Scottsville, KY native was the owner and operator of Cinemental Journeys and worked various jobs over the years as a substitute teacher and book stores. He was saved as a 13 year old boy on June 13, 1993 at Oak Forrest No.2 Missionary Baptist Church in Allen County and announced his call to preach in July, 2000. As a young man, history and politics were his love.  He loved the Allen County Historical Society and in middle school he helped with a project about World War II.  He graduated from Allen County-Scottsville High School in 1997.  He was on the academic team all 4 years of high school.  He went to Berea College for 4 years studying history, politics and religion. He wrote a complete history of the Barren River Association and the churches in it.  He loved genealogy and documenting family history. He was a member of the Allen County Democratic Committee. Andrew could be a pain in the a$$ and could argue with a brick wall, but at the end of the day his values were to end poverty, discrimination and fight for equality and human rights.  He did not shy away from hard conversations, even when he probably should have.

He is survived by his mother: Dianne Strode Hogue, Scottsville, KY;

2 sisters: Amanda Robertson, Hillsboro, OH and Amy Hogue, Bowling Green, KY;

2 nephews: Jacob Paul Robertson and John Robertson, Scottsville, KY;

He was preceded in death by his father: Paul R. Hogue.

Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Goad Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
