Alma Phillips Williams, 93, of Scottsville, KY passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Medical Center at Scottsville. The Allen County, KY native was a co-owner and operator of Williams Water Hauling that she and her husband operated for over 30 years. After her retirement from their business in 1989, she then became a school bus monitor for the Allen County School System for several years. In her years,, she enjoyed hauling dairy cattle to cattle shows throughout Kentucky, traveling with her sister-in-law, Arthema Carter and husband, Roger, through most of the continental United States, loved doing word search puzzles and taking annual trips to the Smokey Mountains. In her last 25 years, mowing lawns was her passion. She was a breast cancer survivor and member of Shady Grove General Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Johnny Thomas Phillips and Bernice Fishburn Phillips and wife of the late Kelly Morris Williams, whom she was married to for 42 years.
She is survived by a daughter: Norma Jean Willoughby and husband, Carrol Kelly, Scottsville, KY;
1 grandson: Greg Willoughby and wife, Amy and
2 great granddaughters: Sarah and Katie Willoughby, all of Lafayette, IN;
1 sister: Pauline Norby, MN;
2 sisters-in-law: Mildred Phillips and Arthema Carter, both of Scottsville, KY and
Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Junior Phillips, Genie Phillips, Glindle Phillips, Raymond Phillip and Harold Phillips and a sister: Lorene Caldwell.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Patrick and Bro. Gary Sullivan officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
