Adell Shockley, 97, of Kettering, OH and formerly of Scottsville, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville, OH. The Scottsville, KY native was a former employee of Washington Overall Manufacturing, homemaker and farmer, avid quilter and collector of porcelain dolls and clowns and faithful member of Maysville Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of Joseph Lavergne Wilson and Samantha Louella Heath Wilson and wife of the late Homer Odis Shockley.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Connie Rowe, Kettering, OH;
1 son: Odis Shockley and wife, Sherry, Shepherdsville, KY;
A sister-in-law: Frances Wilson, Scottsville, KY;
5 grandchildren: Carrie, James (Clif), Tonda, Matt and Greg;
8 great grandchildren: Joshua, Brandon, Katie, Dustin, Caleb, Jaici, Ian and Maggie.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: C. E. "Jack" Wilson, Douglas Wilson and Joe C. Wilson; 4 sisters: Alma Harper, Dorothy Bridges, Beulah Bullington and Helen Moore.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Randal Carter officiating and burial in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and after 12:00 p.m. Sunday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Maysville Missionary Baptist Church. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
