SMSgt. Wilmer Dean Oliver, 90, of Hammond, Louisana passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at Summerfield Assisted Living in Hammond, LA. The Scottsville, KY native was a 24 year United States Air Force veteran having served in the Korean War and Vietnam. After retiring and living in Panama City, Florida he and his family traveled many places but he never forgot his roots in Big Springs, KY where he still has property. He was a son of the late Burnice Oliver and Lillie Dee Williams Oliver.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Virginia Weaver Oliver, Hammond, LA;
1 son: Alan Oliver (Jill), Albany, LA;
1 daughter: Susan Oliver Barnes (Jeff), Panama City, FL;
3 grandchildren: Adria Barnes, Alana Oliver and Eric Barnes.
2 sisters-in-law: Patty Oliver, Scottsville, KY and Martha Miller, Alvaton, KY;
He was preceded in death by his step mother: Lallie Willoughby Oliver; 1 sister: Oretha Oliver Conner and 1 brother: Carleen Oliver.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Liberty Cemetery with United States Air Force military honors. Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. Goad Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
