William Everette Shockley, 85, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. The Scottsville, KY native was a former industrial arts teacher at Fern Creek Jr. High and High Schools, U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, world class knife collector and dealer, lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, National Knife Collector's Association and Kentucky Cutlery Association, charter member of the Scottsville YMCA, car enthusiast and member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Garlin Everett Shockley and Nora Ann Pruitt Shockley.
He is survived by his wife: Jane Shockley, Scottsville, KY;
1 daughter: Karen Davis and husband, Bob, Lexington, KY;
2 brothers: Buel C. Shockley and wife, Sue, Adolphus, KY and Terry R. Shockley and wife, Jo, Frankfort, KY;
1 sister: Janice Hendrix, Scottsville, KY;
2 grandchildren: Justin P. Gibson (Laura) and Jaclyn P. Gibson;
1 great granddaughter: Ava Gibson.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Moran and Bro. Ron Spurgeon officiating and burial in New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 pm to 8 pm Saturday at Goad Funeral Home and after 1 pm Sunday until funeral time at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Disease Research. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
