Laverl Jean Powell Livesay, 73, of Scottsville, KY slipped away to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. She is at peace now and rejoicing after 40 years of medical anomalies from a brain tumor when she was 33 years old, diagnosed in February 2018 with lung cancer and 5 stage kidney disease and many other major medical issues in between. Her greatest love was her two grandsons, Koltan and Jordan. Her second passion was for those kids less fortunate than we were, and she always wanted to help. She felt it was her mission in life to see that many of these young people got "back on track." She also had a love for her many pets; and in her younger years, she trained search and rescue dogs and worked with many agents around the state and across the southeast. The Lucas, KY native was a homemaker, former employee of Dollar General and General Electric, a 1964 Scottsville High School graduate, a member of White Plains Baptist Church and attended East Willow Church of God. She was a daughter of the late Elmer Powell and Reba Dalton Powell.
She is survived by her husband: Billy M. Livesay, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: Thomas Livesay and wife, Sherie,Franklin, TN;
1 daughter: Laura Livesay Robinson and husband, Kevin, Scottsville, KY;
2 grandchildren: Koltan Robinson and Jordan Robinson, both of Scottsville, KY;
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Leon and Eula Livesay.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Patrick and Bro. Russell Mills officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens.
