Karen Ogles Shockley, 57, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired clerk of 31 years for Scottsville Water and Gas Department, former employee of Dollar General Corporation, former parent volunteer for A.C.S.H. Band, Secretary and Treasurer for Open Door Outreach Church and Oak Grove General Baptist Church, a member of Open Door Outreach Church and former member of Scottsville First General Baptist Church and Oak Grove General Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Euloise Ogles and Mary Ann Cooksey Ogles, who survives.
She is survived by her husband: Bro. Roy Shockley, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: Gabe Shockley, Scottsville, KY;
1 daughter: Hannah Shockley Herrington and husband, David, Scottsville, KY;
Her mother: Mary Ann Ogles, Scottsville, KY;
1 sister: Barbara Richards Wade and husband, Joe, Scottsville, KY;
1 grandson: Samson James Herrington, Scottsville, KY;
1 nephew: Dustin Richards and wife, Miranda, Scottsville, KY;
1 niece: Rebekah Westray and husband, Jesse, Scottsville, KY;
3 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Shockley officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Saturday and 8:00 A.M. until funeral time Sunday at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Open Door Outreach Church or the Backpack Ministry. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
