John Newton "Pap" Jones

​John Newton "Pap" Jones, 75, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his residence.  The Williamsport, IN native was a retired master plumber, retired firefighter for the Houston, TX Fire Department, member of Local 341 IAFF and former member of Stony Point Volunteer Fire Department.  He was a son of the late Emory Guy Jones and Marjorie Grace Beason Jones.

​He is survived by his wife:  Jan Jones, Scottsville, KY;

​1 son:  John Keith Jones and wife, Carrie, Stony Point Community;

​2 daughters:  Angela Renee Rivette and husband, Dolan, Cleveland, TX and Keri Elizabeth Jones Ackerman and husband, Cary, Bluffton, SC;

​1 sister:  Dee Latsha, Austin, TX;

​9 grandchildren:  Kevin Rivette (Chelsea), Rachell Williams (Danny), Kodi Smith (Meagan), Chloe Smith, Keith Jones, Jr., James Tyler Smith (Breana), Isabella Grace Jones, Elizabeth Grace McCoy and Christopher Jones;

9 great grandchildren:  Lane Williams, Logan Williams, Colton Rivette, Kaleb Rivette, Paisley Smith, Adeleigh Smith, Nova Smith, Peyton Tiger and Lena Tiger.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers:  Thomas Lee Jones, Jim Jones and Jack Eugene Jones.

​Cremation was chosen and visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Stony Point Volunteer Fire Department.   Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
