Erlis Edward Mitchell, 97, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired farmer and builder, member and deacon of New Middle Fork Missionary Baptist Church and WW II U. S. Army veteran. He was a son of the late James Wesley Mitchell and Sarah Angeline Mitchell and husband of the late Nokomis Hughes Mitchell.
He is survived by 2 granddaughters: Krysta Mitchell, Bowling Green, KY and Ashley McKinney, Franklin, KY;
1 step grandson: Wesley Duke, Dallas, Texas;
2 great grandchildren: Landon McKinney and Abby McKinney.
He was preceded in death by 1 son: Phillip Mitchell and his wife, Tammy; his twin sister: Edna Bowman and 8 other siblings.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Mitchell officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Monday at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
