Delmis Walker, 87, of Scottsville, KY passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at his residence. The Adolphus, KY native was a former self-employed logger, former owner and operator of Chapel Hill Grocery, former operatory of Sonoco Service Station in Adolphus and attends Faith Assembly Pentecostal Church. He was a son of the late Andrew Arvel Walker and Ora Mae Fishburn Walker.
He is survived by his wife: Rebecca Walker, Scottsville, KY;
4 sons: Roger Honeycutt and wife, Sue, Scottsville, KY; Clyde Walker and wife, Darlene, Westmoreland, TN; Doyal Walker and wife, Jimmie, Portland, TN; David Meador and wife, Vella, Indiana;
1 daughter: Carolyn Troutt and husband, Danny, Adolphus, KY;
2 sisters: Betty Wolfe, Scottsville, KY and Linda Cherry, Adolphus, KY;
1 sister-in-law: Mary Jo Walker, Bowling Green, KY;
10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Donald Walker, Aaron Walker, Eugene Walker and infant brother, Ralph Walker; 1 great great granddaughter: Raeghan McKenzee Cherry.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Maxie McGuffey and Bro. Russell Mills officiating and burial in Oak Forest No. 1 Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Monday at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.
