Bro. Sammy Cornwell, 71, of Scottsville, KY passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at his residence. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of General Electric and A. O. Smith, a Viet Nam U. S. Army veteran, and founder and pastor of Pleasant Field Full Gospel Church. He was a son of the late Herman Hascal Cornwell and Dema Lois McGuffey Cornwell.
He is survived by his wife: Faye Cornwell, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: John Cornwell and wife, Joyce, Adolphus, KY;
3 daughters: Angela Riddle and husband, Doug, Smiths Grove, KY; Jennifer Huston and husband, Weldon, and Misty Renard and husband, Mark, all of Scottsville, KY;
1 brother: Mark Cornwell and wife, Lea, Scottsville, KY;
2 sisters: Linda Harvey, Lexington, KY and Dewana Anderson and husband, Larry, Adolphus, KY;
9 grandchildren: Kristin Vibbert (Adam), Katelyn Woodmansee, Keaton Woodmansee, Jax Huston, Mason Renard, Markus Renard, Landen Cornwell, Brooklyn Cornwell and Tristan Cornwell;
1 great granddaughter: Aubree Spurlock.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Jewell Bransford.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Field Full Gospel Church with burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Field Full Gospel Church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.
