Bernie D. Woodward, 84, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Houchens Industries and General Electric; former Allen County Coroner; 38 year member of the Scottsville Allen County Fire Department; member of Mt. Union United Methodist Church where he served at Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and trustee and attended Abounding Grace Ministries. He and Marsha worked for over 25 years with Remove Intoxicated Drivers and were leaders of the U.M.Y.F. He was U. S. Army veteran and member of the 100th Division Active Reserve. He was a son of the late Aubrey Thomas Woodward and Emzie Clarice Meador.
He is survived by his wife: Marsha Barnes Woodward, Scottsville, KY;
1 brother: Bernis A. Woodward and wife, Marcia, Louisville, KY;
A brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Keith and Margaret Barnes Gerald, Scottsville, KY.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Alice Marie Woodward and a sister: Marie Garrett Woodward and her husband, Leon.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Elvis Farley officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Methodist Children's Home or RID U.S.A. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
