Dottie Sue (McGuffey) Cornwell

Dottie Sue McGuffey Cornwell, 80, of Scottsville, KY passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.  The Scottsville, KY native was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.  She was an avid reader and loved to cook Sunday dinner and cherished spending time with her kids and grandkids.   After many years of dedicated work, Dottie retired from Cutler Hammer/Eaton Corporation and the Medical Center at Scottsville.  She was a member of Scottsville Baptist Church and loved listening to audible Bible stories and gospel music.  She was a daughter of the late Luther Wilson McGuffey and Odell Carter McGuffey and wife of the late Rondel Dean Cornwell. 

She is survived by a daughter:  Donna Haven and husband, Charles, Scottsville, KY; 

3 grandchildren:  Josh Cornwell and wife, Cassie; Jeremy Haven and wife, Mackenzie and Logan Haven and fiancee', Kayla Shelton; 

A great grandson:  Jackson Heath; 

Many nieces and nephews, who greatly impacted her life, and a close extended family. 

She was preceded in death by a son:  Robbie Neil Cornwell; 2 sisters:  Beatrice Long and Doris Jean Carter; 3 brothers:  Jay Willard McGuffey, Larry McGuffey and Luther "Jr." McGuffey.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Rogers officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice House.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
