​Elonzo Allen Centers, 89, of Martinsville, IN and formerly of Scottsville, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.  The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Chrysler and a son of the late Willis Shepard Centers and Rose Ellen Ragland Centers Eddings Burton and husband of the late Mary Lois Johnson Centers.  

 

​He is survived by 2 sons:  David Centers, Indianapolis, IN and Kenneth Centers and wife, Paula, Flat Rock, IN; 

2 daughters:  Peggy Bay and husband, Jim, and Rosalie Zweck and husband, Edwin, all of Martinsville, IN; 

​2 step sons:  Phillip Dale Mitchell, Scottsville, KY and Lowell Dewayne Mitchell and wife, Susan, Mooresville, IN; 

​1 step daughter:  Sue Shoulders and husband, Billy, Dixon Springs, TN; 

11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and 

​Several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers:  Buford "Slim" Centers, Willis "Biggin" Centers; Roy "Pete" Centers and Dale Centers; 6 sisters:  Oma Centers Szilagyi, Myrtle Centers Stewart; Lucille Ragland Hargrove; Willie Susan Hoskins, Darthelia Hoskins and Lucy Mae Neal. 

 

​Funeral services will 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Lawrence Gilliam officiating and burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday  and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home.
