Thomas Wayne Houchens, 72, of Scottsville, KY died at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. The Lucas, KY native was a former employee of General Electric and A. O. Smith, a member of White Plains Baptist Church, a former Boy Scout Leader and an avid gardener. He was a son of the late Samuel Thomas Houchens and Mary Edna Furlong Houchens.
He is survived by his wife: Sandra Davis Houchens, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: Dr. Gary Houchens and wife, Dr. Holly Payne, Bowling Green, KY;
1 daughter: Hope Pedigo and husband, Robbie, Scottsville, KY;
1 brother: Maxie Houchens, Bowling Green, KY;
1 sister: Elizabeth Johnson and husband, Fred, Scottsville, KY;
7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Holly Houchens.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 12 noon Friday at Goad Funeral Home.
