Virgil Johnson, 69, of Scottsville, KY died at 7:20 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at his residence. The Pineville, KY native was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis. He was a son of the late Fred Johnson and Frances Hubbard Johnson.
He is survived by his wife: Ella Mae Gibson Johnson, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: Wayne Johnson, Indianapolis, IN;
1 daughter: Bobbi Abston, Indianapolis, IN;
1 step daughter: Susan Wrightsman and husband, David, Indianapolis, IN;
3 brothers: J. B. Johnson and wife, Peggy, Madison, AL; Ralph Johnson and wife, Evelyn, and Curtis Johnson, all of Indianapolis, IN;
1 sister: Joyce Adams and husband, Art, Indianapolis, IN;
4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Liles officiating and burial in the Alone Cemetery in Metcalf County, KY. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home. | |

To a very special person and step-father whom we will miss so much. "Heaven has taken another angel to watch over us and god must have needed you. You were a very caring person, always happy go lucky and ready to have good times. Gatlinburg, Tenn will never be the same without you. The good times we had sitting on the balcony and going to Crawdaddy's. We had alot of good vacations together. I am so happy we took you and mom to Florida in September, where you had some good food to eat (and mom did to). Pops we love and miss you so much. Mom said she was lost without you and will be for a very long time. She took such good care of you while you were sick, she is a very special person and you two were a great pair together. I know she is going to miss you so much. We will meet you again in heaven some day and I am sure you will have open arms waiting on your loving wife. We love you pops and miss you so much. To an amazing brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and most importantly a beautiful caring loving RESPECTED "Daddy". You will be missed deeply by many and cherished by all. You gave guidance and love to your children and family unconditionally. Please don't look down from heaven above and feel sorrow for the ones you left behind for the ones that you loved so deeply are souls will be together again. You are in HEAVEN with the ones you love and looked over you for years, please give grandma and grandpa a hug and kiss from me and tell them I love and miss them deeply. This is not goodbye this is until we meet again and our souls can reach out and touch again. I know in my heart that you will watch over us and you will be here in spirit, you were taken away from us way to soon but GOD has plans for you and you will succeed his every expectations of you. Virgil,
I miss you so very much, I knew it would be hard but it is even harder than I could ever imagine. You will be so dearly MISSED by all of your family and so dearly LOVED by all of us. Tell mom, dad, uncle Pearl, aunt Ollie and aunt Flora that we all love them and we know that they were at the gates of HEAVEN just waiting to be with you again with open arms.
